Marc Douek, PT, MPT
Founder, BEST Physical Therapy and Nutrition
Marc is a native of Delaware and completed his undergraduate degree at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He then returned home and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the number 1 ranked physical therapy program at the University of Delaware. Marc’s experience in the allied health field has provided him with a strong emphasis in sports medicine and orthopedics as well as a special interest in manual physical therapy. Marc emphasizes movement, form and fitness with a rapid return to physical activity and sport as his primary treatment philosophy. Looking at the entire patient as a whole cannot be overstated or overlooked; correction of form and muscle imbalances are crucial to not only recovering from injury but preventing them from happening.
Marc is Functional Dry Needling Certified as well as trained in the McKenzie Method, Maitland Approach, Mulligan, and core training with postural restoration techniques. His treatments and philosophies are also influenced through his learnings of Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Kinesio Taping, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), and instruction by the Titelest Performance Institute (TPI).
Over his career Marc has worked closely with many athletes ranging from current and former professional athletes in the MLB, NFL, NBA, NCFC and NWSL, European Professional and International soccer stars, as well as numerous collegiate athletes. He has expansive experience and training with collegiate and Olympic level gymnasts and National Championship cheer; he has even been consulted for publication.
Marc also has extensive training with Parkinson’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, Neurologic, Stroke injuries, and cardiac rehabilitation as he worked in one of the top Traumatic Brain Injury and Rehabilitation units in Baltimore, Maryland prior to moving to Raleigh.
Marc’s wife Abby Douek, MPT, PT, is a highly successful physical therapist with her own practice, Run Raleigh Physical Therapy. She is critically acclaimed and one of the foremost running physical therapists out there; this relationship allows for a unique partnership for treating patients between B.E.S.T. Physical Therapy and Run Raleigh Physical Therapy.
His Interests outside of work include his family, soccer, tennis, golf, mountain biking, surfing, skiing, and obstacle course racing.

Brian Gentile, M.P.T. graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in exercise science and received his physical degree from Western Carolina University. His graduate research explored the effects of custom made foot orthotics on postural sway. He is currently interested in foot biomechanics and orthotics prescription. He utilizes manual therapy skills and functional strengthening to promote healing and a safe return to activities.

Joseph Villecco, PT, DPT, OCS
Joe earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. He earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from SUNY Oneonta where he also became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. Joseph is originally from Binghamton, NY and, as such, is perfectly suited for the Cary area!
Joe is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy (OCS) and completed his Orthopedic Residency through Evidence In Motion in 2018. Megan recently moved to the Raleigh area from Richmond, Virginia. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech in 2006, and continued to Old Dominion University to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010. She has been practicing in outpatient medicine for over ten years, and is also Certified in Aerial Yoga Trapeze with a focus on Suspension – Decompression Spinal Therapy. Megan is a Certified Holistic Manual Lymphatic Drainage Specialist. Megan was recently selected to represent all of North Carolina for Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy!!!
Working as a Doctor of Physical Therapy in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation has provided Megan substantial background in manual therapy with joint mobilization, cupping, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Massage, sacroiliac joint reduction techniques, run and gait analysis, custom orthotic fabrication, Kinesio Taping, and return-to-sport rehabilitation. Brittany completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY in 2017. Previously, she completed her Bachelors of Science in Biology from State University of New York at Geneseo, where she also participated in collegiate women’s soccer.
Brittany has advanced training as a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a title held by less than 5% of therapists. She also completed an Orthopedic Residency and had the privilege of training under multiple Fellows who have helped to shape her practice into a balance of using best available evidence and patient values. She practices with a modern approach to treatment, focusing on the body as a whole unit in order to help patients meet their individual goals quickly. Brittany utilizes up-to-date manual therapy techniques such as functional dry needling, joint mobilizations/manipulations, and soft tissue massage alongside corrective exercises to assist in restoring functional movement patterns. She is an avid researcher and loves to stay current on the most recent PT literature to assist in helping patients get better faster.

Joseph (Joe) Muglia obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Long Island University in 2016 and, ever since, has dedicated his practice to hands-on and high-level sports and orthopedic rehabilitation. Joe has spent the last seven years working with surgical and non-surgical orthopedic and neurological conditions. In his time as a physical therapist, he has received multiple specialty certifications including: The Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Champion Performance Specialist (C-PS), the HSS Sports Safety Educator Certification.
Joe is a lifelong athlete and has experienced healthcare as both a patient and a provider. Trevor received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2013 from Daemen College in Buffalo, NY after completing an undergraduate degree in Biology from SUNY Oswego in 2010. He played soccer, basketball, and tennis in High School but branched out into as many intramurals as possible throughout undergrad and graduate school.
Trevor believes you should never stop learning and he is always looking for new techniques, approaches, and skills to assist in helping his patients achieve the best outcomes. Trevor is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT), which has provided him with advanced training performing soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilizations, joint manipulations, and diagnostic skills. Marisa was born and raised in North Carolina. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012. She continued her graduate education at East Carolina University and received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy soon after.
Marisa enjoys working closely with patients of all ages and injuries to help them reach their own personal goals. Carlie graduated from North Carolina State University in 2019 with a BA in Biological Science and a minor in Sports Science. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2023 at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. She recently moved back to Raleigh to begin her PT career.
During her time at NC State, Carlie competed as a Division 1 diver and has experience coaching for youth club diving teams. She also has previous experience with swimming and gymnastics. Shawn Calnan, PT, DPT, CSCS
Shawn was born and raised just outside of Syracuse, NY and received both his undergraduate degree and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. During his time at Nazareth College, he competed on the men’s volleyball team and was founder/captain of the men’s club soccer team. Shawn spent time outside of school coaching a local boys club volleyball team; the team reached the national level when he was head coach. He also was the head personal trainer for the on-campus personal training program, achieving his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is able to utilize these skills developed as a personal trainer alongside his knowledge of the human body through his physical therapy education to provide customized programs to help his patients reach their goals.
Since graduating, Shawn has completed continuing education courses that certify him to complete dry needling, blood flow restriction therapy, and is currently working towards achieving his Clinical Management of the Fitness athlete certification. He has worked alongside athletes at all levels including high school, college, and at the professional level, but also enjoys seeing progressions with all patients no matter age or fitness level. Originally from Charlotte, Addie Claire graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with BA’s in both Psychology and Spanish. She worked as an Intensive In-Home Counselor in Wake County before realizing that nutrition counseling was her calling. AC went back to school to earn her Masters of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Meredith College in Raleigh. After graduation and her Dietetic Internship year, she spent three years in Northwest Washington, DC as Director of Nutrition for VIDA Fitness.
Addie Claire’s triple specialization in mental health, nutrition, and fitness lends her a unique ability to help her clients change not only their diet and exercise habits, but also their overall relationship with food. After all- your relationship with food is the one you cannot end!

Lindsey Glenn, MS RD
Lindsey studied biology at UNCW as an undergrad, then went back to school at NC State for a Masters in Nutrition Science after discovering her love for nutrition post-college. Lindsey worked as a health coach with Noom for 4 years, supporting her clients one-on-one in reaching their health goals. Most recently, she went back to graduate school at North Carolina Central University for a second masters degree and completed her Dietetic Internship.
Growing up Lindsey was involved in sports, running cross country in high school and continues distance running, having completed multiple half marathons.

Holly D. Chapin, PT, MPT, PRPC
Holly received her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy and BA in Psychology both from the University of Delaware. She has been practicing Physical Therapy since 2002 with a strong focus on manual therapy and dysfunctions of the spine, hip, pelvic girdle and pelvic floor.
Holly has honed her manual skills in Orthopedics and pursued a specialty in Pelvic Floor Dysfunctions through extensive course work such as Maitland Approach, Mulligan Concept, Strain/Counterstrain for Pelvic Pain, Myofascial Release and Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation.
While pursuing her expertise in Pelvic Floor dysfunction in California, Holly collaborated with the Medical Director of Advanced Gynecological Surgery at Scripps Memorial Hospital to develop a Pelvic Health Rehab Group. Stephanie Brunner, PT, DPT, CDN
Stephanie graduated from Appalachian State University with a B.S. in Exercises Science, and then went to Wingate University to get her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
She wanted to be a PT after having knee surgery in high school. She grew up in North Carolina and moved to Colorado following graduation and worked for several years at an outpatient PT clinic, but moved back to NC to be closer to family.
She enjoys treating sports injuries and concussions, as well as general orthopedic injuries. She is certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling and uses it in addition to exercises focused on correcting the cause of pain in order to get her clients back to the activities they enjoy.

Sarabeth was born and raised in Rochester, NY before moving to Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance and was a collegiate swimmer. She continued her graduate education at Duke University, where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2016. Sarabeth is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a USA Triathlon Level 1 certified coach.
Sarabeth just moved to Raleigh from Scottsdale, AZ, where she had experience treating a wide array of patients, including youth athletes, Olympic triathletes, NFL/NHL players, and recreational athletes. She also had the opportunity to work closely with professional coaches to devise strength/training plans for elite/professional athletes. She also worked as a triathlon and swim technique coach.In the clinic, Sarabeth enjoys working closely with patients to come up with the most appropriate and effective treatment for them as an individual.
